Politika: French companies would build subway in Belgrade
25/02/2010

French companies are ready to build a subway in Belgrade, but they also want to participate in the modernization of the railways and construction of Corridor number 10, Serbian Politika daily writes on Thursday.

The proposal was voiced on Wednesday at a dinner between Serbian Infrastructure Minister Milutin Mrkonjic, French Minister of State for Foreign Trade Anne-Marie Idrac and a group of French businessmen.

Idrac announced French companies Alstom and Egis would like to take part in the metro construction, but they would first wait for Belgrade to decide what type of subway it wants to build and prepare the necessary documents. She added France had envisaged financial assistance of EUR 460,000 for the project inspecting the bridges in Serbia.
